The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking two (2) Accounts Professionals to join our dynamic team and contribute to the smooth operation of our financial functions.

To be suitable for these roles, you will need a solid understanding of the Financial Management Act, Treasurer's Instructions, and Australian Accounting Standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are key, as you will frequently liaise with stakeholders and provide informed advice. You'll need to be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, bringing problem-solving abilities, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines. Possession of or progression towards a relevant tertiary qualification is also crucial.

About You!

To excel in the following roles, you should possess:

Accounts Officer / Purchasing Card Administrator (33078)

  • Relevant accounting knowledge, including a demonstrated understanding of all Accounts Payable functions and administering a purchasing card and invoice workflow system.
  • Relevant experience in an accounts payable environment, including ability to gain proficiency in governance rules, regulations and system processes.
  • Sound conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience and proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing skills and general computer skills.

Cash and Accounts Officer (32484)

  • Knowledge of the Financial Management Act, the Treasurer's Instructions and Australian Accounting Standards with a demonstrated understanding of Revenue and Expenditure functions and relevant experience in Cash Management functions, including the ability to gain proficiency in rules, regulations and processes.
  • Comprehensive experience in Financial Management systems and accrual based accounting procedures.
  • Proven experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
  • Comprehensive experience and proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software, particularly a general ledger system.

It also operates public transport services in regional centres, operates road coach and rail passenger services to regional area under the Transwa brand, and administers School Bus Services (SBS).
