Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an Administration Assistant to join the team. Benefits include:

OBJECTIVE OF THIS ROLE
The purpose of this role is to provide assistance in relation to Council's Infrastructure & Environment Department and ensure all jobs allocated are completed within industry timeframes.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Well-developed computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Assist in the coordination and quality assurance of written material.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE
- Assist the Director of Infrastructure & Environment to carry out planning for particular projects and business activities.
- Provide business activities and assistance to the Manager roles within the Department.
- Perform word processing, create reports and data entry duties.
- Procurement; obtain quotes and raising purchase orders.
- Road Maintenance Performance Contract Management - document and record preparation and management focusing on compliance, reporting and KPI performance.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders in order to identify, coordinate and implement business initiatives for Cloncurry Shire Council.
- Assist Property Management Coordinator with collating entry notices, scheduling regular inspections and maintenance.
- Provide courteous customer service to all clients and visitors of Council.
- Work in cooperation with other business units and Directorates as reasonably required.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity towards equity and diversity.
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written skills).
- A sound knowledge of the need to work safely, including WH&S and good environmental awareness.
- Ability to work and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Local Government and ability to work effectively with community groups and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCES REQUIRED
- Current Police Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
- Hold and maintain an unrestricted Class 'C' Drivers Licence.
- Completion of year 10 as a minimum requirement.
