The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the role of Assistant Director, Corporate Reporting, in the Parliamentary and Corporate Reporting section, to deliver key documents such as the Annual Report and Corporate Plan on behalf of the ABS.
About the role
Responsibilities include:
- oversee the development and publication of the ABS Corporate Plan and Annual Report, ensuring alignment with the agency's strategic priorities and compliance with relevant guidelines and standards
- collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders to gather input and ensure the plan reflects organisational priorities
- embed the Enterprise Performance Measurement Framework, and assist the organisation to develop the performance measures, targets, monitoring and reporting, including the development of the Annual Performance Statement
- analyse performance data and provide insights and recommendations for improvement
- ensure accurate and timely reporting of performance metrics to senior management
- draft performance reports and briefings to the Executive, Minister and Audit and Risk Committee
- ensure ABS compliance with the Information Publication Scheme by maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and accessible information, conducting regular reviews, and promoting transparency through proactive information publication
- supervise an APS 6 officer.
What we are looking for (selection criteria)
To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities and experience:
- high performing, flexible leader with an eye for detail
- a proven ability to manage and provide clear direction to staff, and foster a collaborative and high performing work environment
- highly developed writing skills with experience writing briefs for the executive and Ministerial audiences
- very good interpersonal skills and the confidence to deal directly with stakeholders of varying levels
- strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and achieve results
- experience in any of the following areas: organisational planning, performance measurement and reporting, or producing Corporate Plans, Annual Reports, Annual Performance Statements and performance information for Portfolio Budget Statements.
