About the Role

The Assistant Director of Academic Education (Middle Years Programme Co-ordinator) reports to the Director of Academic Education as part of the Senior School Academic Office and the Academic Leadership Team (ALT).

The Assistant Director will be responsible for the co-ordination of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP), the Australian Curriculum and related academic matters in Years 7 to 10, including working collaboratively with the ALT in the tracking and improvement of student performance, and in curriculum planning, documentation, compliance, monitoring, assessment and reporting. The Assistant Director also leads communication and guidance in academic matters with these year groups.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for curriculum and teaching development across Years 7 to 10 including the implementation and leadership of the IB MYP alongside the requirements of the Australian Curriculum.

About You

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

  • An ACT teacher's registration through the ACT TQI or the eligibility to obtain one
  • Excellent written English and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent technological literacy across a range of applications
  • A relevant tertiary degree or qualification
  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card

  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • A current National Police Check; and
  • Full working rights within Australia.
