Responsibilities
- The Associate Director - Sourcing Manager is a hands-on leadership role primarily responsible for all areas sourcing, supplier forecast, negotiating contract review, coordinating with legal and other subject matter experts (SMEs), and timely communication with the suppliers.
- The Associate Director - Sourcing Manager will ensure compliance with all internal and external policies, laws and regulations. This role will serve as primary contact for contracts, agreements, statements of work (SOW), proposals, and quotes, verifying they align with Lilly standard language and business terms, analyze data to support business plans, and manage other daily functions as required.
- Uphold the financial responsibility and authorization policy (FRAP) regarding authority to spend, authority to commit, and authority to disperse responsibilities.
- The Associate Director - Sourcing Manager has a prominent role in Supplier Relationship Management, coordinating business reviews, supporting supplier quality initiatives, and communicating forecasted demand expectations for long range plans.
- This role reports to the Senior Director, Supply Chain & Planning and is directly responsible for the site sourcing strategy, contract review, cross-functional alignment across R&D, CMC, and commercial sourcing needs, and escalation of any issues, and impacts.
Objectives
- Manages tactical sourcing activities including SOW authorization and management, coordinates with global procurement for strategic alignment on supplier sourcing and relationship management aspects.
- Identifies and leads/actively participates in continuous improvements regarding supply chain practices and sourcing opportunities.
- Serving as the primary point of contact and lead for sourcing activities, monitors contract terms, expiration dates, amendments, short-term and long-term forecasts, and communicates impacts internally.
- Supports new product development planning and site strategic planning activities.
- Tracks and trends key supply chain metrics. Prepares reports and presentations for executive leadership.
- Identifies and escalates supply chain risks related to sourcing activities and/or supplier relationship management.
- Assists in troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions.
- Serves as point of escalation for any sourcing or supplier-related issues, delays, parts constraints, or resource alignment needs.
Accountabilities
- Measure and communicate team progress against individual, team and site goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
- Lead cross functional efforts to improve process and sourcing activities.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (preference for Business, management, supply chain, accounting, statistics degrees)
- 7+ years procurement, sourcing, supply chain, and/or finance experience in a drug manufacturing site, pharmaceutical operation or similarly regulated GxP environment.
Additional preferences
- Expert level proficiency with contract review and negotiation experience preferred.
- Ability to plan, develop, and execute multiple projects under tight timelines with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Experience with radioactive pharmaceuticals considered a plus.
- Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into the process steps; develops schedules and tasks/people assignments; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks; measures performance against goals; evaluates results.
