Our WSP Property and Buildings group have an exciting role for an Associate Director to Director-level individual to join our growing team in Sydney.

Our Property and Buildings team is a world-leading management and technical consultancy operating across all sectors. We are passionate about tackling the complex and sophisticated challenges of the built environment and delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to create accessible, resilient and liveable communities.

Our Building Structures group are a specialist team renowned for their innovation in structural engineering and cutting-edge BIM project execution across high-rise and complex building structures and infrastructure projects, with offices in every major city across Australia.

Our recent projects span across a range of different sectors including but not limited to high-rise developments, schools, infrastructure, the list goes on. Some of our recent projects include:

What you'll do

As an Associate Director you will:

  • Operate in a market-facing and design delivery focused role;
  • Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients;
  • Proactively determine, manage, monitor and control scope of works;
  • Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects;
  • Ensure timely and quality of delivery for civil engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards - and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
  • Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally;
  • Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team;
  • Champion own continual professional development and mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers;
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting;
  • Support / lead in proposal preparation.

About you

The successful candidate we are looking for will have:

  • Proven experience in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high profile projects as the project leader within the Property & Buildings sector on large or complex projects;
  • Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector, e.g. commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, health, defence;
  • Technical expertise in all-round structural engineering design including post-tensioned concrete;
  • Typically 12 to 15+ years' industry experience;
  • Well-developed client facing, business development and account/relationship management skills;
  • The ability to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
