Our WSP Property and Buildings group have an exciting role for an Associate Director to Director-level individual to join our growing team in Sydney.
Our Property and Buildings team is a world-leading management and technical consultancy operating across all sectors. Our Building Structures group are a specialist team renowned for their innovation in structural engineering and cutting-edge BIM project execution across high-rise and complex building structures and infrastructure projects, with offices in every major city across Australia.

What you'll do
As an Associate Director you will:
- Operate in a market-facing and design delivery focused role;
- Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients;
- Proactively determine, manage, monitor and control scope of works;
- Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects;
- Ensure timely and quality of delivery for civil engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards - and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
- Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally;
- Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team;
- Champion own continual professional development and mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers;
- Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting;
- Support / lead in proposal preparation.
About you
The successful candidate we are looking for will have:
- Proven experience in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high profile projects as the project leader within the Property & Buildings sector on large or complex projects;
- Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector, e.g. commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, health, defence;
- Technical expertise in all-round structural engineering design including post-tensioned concrete;
- Typically 12 to 15+ years' industry experience;
- Well-developed client facing, business development and account/relationship management skills;
- The ability to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
