How will I help?
This Associate Director position sits within the Chief Operating Officer of the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Line of Business, which is an integral part of Westpac's Institutional Bank (WIB).
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the WIB ESG team to help lead the uplift of Westpac's understanding of good engagement with Indigenous people including Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC). The initiative forms part of Westpac's Reconciliation Action Plan and will help shape the Bank's policies and guidelines, advance systems and processes that screen ESG issues, and help our people understand their role through the delivery of tailored training on the topic.
You will also:
- Strategic design: Support the development of the FPIC framework that will assess the maturity of customers' approach to Indigenous engagement.
- Stakeholder management: Engage key stakeholders within the Division and across Westpac, conduct stakeholder analysis to identify high level impacts and change readiness, design activities to build business readiness, monitor readiness to embed FPIC framework in daily operations.
- Project management: Manage team responsibilities required to achieve desired internal process uplift. Includes the development and execution of a detailed milestone plan.
- Monitoring and reporting: Develop progress reporting for steering committee and executive team by working with specific SMEs, helping frame issues requiring discussion and decision making in a clear and succinct manner.
What do I need?
- 5+ years of experience gained in management consulting or project management, ideally with an understanding of the finance sector.
- Understanding of or keen interest in learning about principles that support first nations self-determination.
- Problem-Solving: Proficiency in breaking down complex business problems and designing structured solutions.
- Communication Skills: Experience delivering persuasive presentations tailored to diverse audiences including c-level.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills to engage senior stakeholders across the business.
