We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Paralegal to join our esteemed legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and who has a keen interest in the legal industry. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of our team, supporting attorneys in a wide range of legal matters, with a particular focus on avoidance actions. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in the legal field.
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting attorneys with avoidance actions and other complex legal matters.
2. Conducting extensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
3. Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, affidavits, motions, and memoranda of law.
4. Managing and organizing large volumes of documents and data; maintaining detailed and accurate case files.
5. Coordinating with clients and opposing counsel, scheduling meetings, and managing deadlines.
6. Preparing for and attending court proceedings as necessary.
7. Staying updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to avoidance actions.
8. Assisting with other duties and special projects as assigned by attorneys.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of paralegal experience in bankruptcy law, both creditor and debtor side
3. Significant experience with avoidance actions and a solid understanding of the related laws and regulations.
4. Exceptional research and analytical skills; proficiency in using legal research platforms.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
7. High level of professionalism and confidentiality; ability to interact effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal case management software.
9. A proactive, self-motivated approach; ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
