Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Manager (with a project management focus) to facilitate the repairs and maintenance of common property for a waterfront building based in Newstead. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and aesthetics of the shared facilities, infrastructure, and amenities within the property. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Building Manager will be the main contact for all repairs and maintenance and the conduit between the client and contractors. A reasonable level of computer literacy is essential to ensure your success in this position.
Importantly, you'll be representing the Cambridge Management Services brand and your professional attitude coupled with confident communication style will ensure that all matters are handled effectively for stakeholders. This role has a high level of reporting and administration.
About the role: - Identify and address critical maintenance issues to ensure safety and functionality of essential building systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and foster strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
- Participate in regular meetings with management, clients, and contractors.
- Provide updates on building operations and address any concerns.
- Develop and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for preventative maintenance.
- Prepare and negotiate new contracts and service agreements to meet building requirements.
- Ensure all building operations comply with local regulations and standards by conducting regular audits and inspections.
- Respond to emergencies and urgent issues, communicate effectively with tenants and stakeholders during incidents.
Desired Skills and Experience About You:
- Proven experience as a Building Manager or a similar role in Strata.
- Solid understanding of building systems, facilities management, and maintenance best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and execute multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintenance Contract Management.
- Budgeting and financial management skills to monitor expenses and adhere to allocated budgets.
