UMENCO is currently recruiting a Chief Executive Officer for an Australian omni-channel retailer.
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for leading the company's strategic direction, with a focus on people leadership, commercial growth, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Founders, the CEO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, driving profitability, managing risks, and ensuring continuous innovation across the business. The CEO will oversee a wide range of functions, including commercial performance across all channels (bricks-and-mortar, online, and wholesale), HR, legal and IT, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, distribution, marketing, brand management, and property leasing. This role will also involve shaping the company's retail, ecommerce, and omni-channel sales strategies while exploring new business and category expansion opportunities aligned with the brand's values.
Key Responsibilities - Define and implement a commercial growth roadmap to drive revenue and profitability.
- Collaborate with the Founders on trade strategies and ensure the brand's omni-channel approach evolves to maximize growth.
- Build and nurture relationships with design industry leaders, vendors, and potential collaborators.
- Oversee the wholesale strategy, domestic and international distribution, and manage property leases, including feasibility analysis and CAPEX management for new stores.
- Conduct regular market audits and competitor analysis to inform strategies for business growth.
- Champion best-in-class customer experience across all touch points.
- Provide leadership in people and culture, inspiring and aligning the team to create a unified culture focused on growth and efficiency.
- Work closely with the Founders to guide the leadership team through change and scale, ensuring professional development and fostering a positive company culture.
- Lead by example, ensuring teams are aligned with strategic goals and driving performance through mentoring, coaching, and incentivizing staff.
- Manage external relationships with key suppliers, leasing agents, and partners, and represent the brand at industry events.
- Collaborate with senior management to plan timelines, ensure adherence to critical paths, and implement operational systems designed to accommodate the company's rapid growth.
- Oversee all legal matters, including copyright protections and contract reviews.
- Work with the IT department to optimize business processes and improve productivity.
- Manage the implementation of distribution policies, support demand planning, and oversee administrative responsibilities related to commercial contracts and negotiations.
This leadership role requires a deep understanding of global business environments, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders while ensuring the business remains competitive and efficient.
