Esperance is a beautiful coastal town with stunning scenery, white beaches, and turquoise waters. It is a popular tourist destination with several National Parks in the region.

We currently have an opportunity for a Clerical Officer to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Administration Officer, you will:

  • Provide general administration and clerical support to district staff and secretarial support as required.
  • Provide front counter and telephone reception services for the district office.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should prepare a covering letter outlining their skills and experience in relation to the following selection criteria:

  • Experience in dealing with internal and external enquiries with a customer service focus.
  • Knowledge of the use of office equipment, office procedures and administration, including demonstrated competency in the use of computer databases, spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Ability to undertake records management and general clerical duties, including the processing of financial documents.
  • Good oral and written communication and organisational skills, and an ability to analyse and suggest solutions to basic problems.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Understanding of work, health and safety, and equity and diversity principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of departmental functions, activities and the Financial Management Act 2006. (Desirable)
  • Experience using a corporate records management system. (Desirable)
  • Ongoing willingness and ability to participate in fire management activities that contribute to bushfire suppression and prescribed burning operations commensurate with capability, capacity, training and level of experience (Desirable).
