About the role
We are in search of a Cloud Security Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience to contribute to the development and oversight of the Department's Cloud security infrastructure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Azure-based security operations and engineering initiatives.
  • Implement cloud security services, automation, and feature updates.
  • Create detailed architectural documentation for cloud services.
  • Design high-level cloud system architectures and provide guidance to engineers.
  • Analyze the impact of stakeholder requirements on system solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with government standards for enterprise and system solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud solutions that meet project goals and stakeholder needs.

Essential Criteria

Cloud Security Expertise:

  • Over 5 years of experience in supporting security operations within the Azure environment, including architecture documentation, service deployment, process automation, and feature updates.
  • Proficient in managing cloud security tools such as Sentinel, MS Defender, SIEM solutions, Endpoint Protection (EDR), Office 365, Data Loss Prevention, CASB, and vulnerability scanning/management.

Cloud Solutions Implementation:

  • Strong experience in implementing cloud-based solutions using technologies like Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, and Azure API Manager.
  • Skilled in developing and deploying solutions with Azure DevOps and Visual Studio for code management, repository handling, and CI/CD deployment.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams, liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members to foster a positive and productive team culture.

Agile Methodology:

  • Experience working within Agile, cross-functional teams to deliver secure, user-friendly, and reliable solutions that meet business, citizen, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Capable of adapting to changes in direction and scope based on evolving project needs and new information.
