The Role
The Communications Advisor is responsible for designing and implementing communications activities for Northern Beaches Hospital.
Working closely with the Hospital's Executive Leadership Team and the Healthscope Communications team, the role will deliver internal communications, social media, and local community and media communications that engage staff and stakeholders and enhance the hospital's reputation.
Key responsibilities:
Internal communications
- Develop and deliver a range of internal communications to inform and engage staff including video, written messages, newsletters, updates, and staff forums.
- Support leadership engagement by preparing messages, presentations, and briefings.
- Plan, promote, and deliver key events including celebrations and new initiative launches.
- Drive adoption and effective use of the Healthscope Hub staff app across the hospital and support the wider Healthscope internal communications program.
External Communications & Social Media
- Manage the hospital's social media presence with a program of compelling content for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Coordinate and respond to media queries and issues, working closely with the Healthscope Communications team.
- Support media relations with local media by building relationships, coordinating interviews, and managing TV appearances.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify positive stories, including patient outcomes, innovations, and community partnerships.
Criteria
- Proven track record developing and delivering highly engaging communications, including internal communication (both written and presented) and digital (social media) content.
- Evidenced success building high trust working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Proven success delivering a range of internal events and community engagement activities.
- Experience in PR and/or media relations activities.
- Prior experience handling high-stakes crisis communications is highly desirable (but not essential).
- Clinical / technical industry experience is an advantage (but not essential).
