CV Resources is partnering with our client, a leading company in the consumer goods space, to help them find a Controller to add to their growing team. The organization is undergoing an exciting phase of growth, including an upcoming public offering, and they are looking for a qualified professional to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success! This is a full-time onsite position in Lake Oswego, OR.
Position Summary:
As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, including the preparation of accurate financial statements (10k & 10Q) in accordance with US GAAP and relevant accounting standards. This includes monthly and year-end closing processes, cash management, and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and provide detailed analysis on financial performance and trends.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Oversee and manage the closing process to ensure accurate recording of transactions and consolidated financial data.
- Cash Management & Forecasting: Monitor accounts payable/receivable, support forecasting, and manage financial resources.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and establish controls to ensure compliance with regulations and safeguard company assets.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Work with senior management to manage the annual budget and update forecasts as needed.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small finance team, ensuring productivity and professional development.
- Financial Systems & Processes: Continuously improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Tax Compliance & Planning: Oversee tax reporting and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filings with external advisors.
- Operational Support: Support bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost accounting functions.
- Reporting & Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide additional reporting and analysis as needed, ensuring accurate financial insights.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in corporate financial reporting, audit preparation, and/or regulatory compliance (including SEC reporting such as 10-Q and 10-K).
- Certifications: CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred, but public company accounting in lieu of will be accepted.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong analytical skills, ability to manage budgets and financial performance, and deep understanding of compliance and accounting principles. Strong leadership and delegation skills are essential.
