Position Details

Counsellor (Leave Replacement).

Selection Criteria

  1. Experienced working with children and their families in a mental health, clinical or educational setting.
  2. Managing the legal, ethical and organisational requirements of a clinical, counselling role within an educational setting (e.g. privacy, confidentiality and disclosure).
  3. The ability to effectively operate as a member of a dynamic team.
  4. A strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  5. Understanding of the principles of Child Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Industrial Democracy and Occupational Health and Safety.
  6. A clear commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
  7. Highly developed communication, listening and modelling skills.
  8. A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications Required

  1. Commitment to the values of St Brigid's College.
  2. Hold relevant counselling qualification and appropriate registration with the relevant professional membership (PACFA or ACA).
  3. Current Working with Children Check.
  4. Cleared Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
