Job Description
Acciona Agua is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design of our Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project. This role requires an expert in multidisciplinary teams and desalination with a proactive approach to managing challenging interfaces throughout the design phase.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design to ensure compliance with all technical requirements and project performance specifications.
- Develop and oversee the design in full compliance with codes, standards, councils, insurers, and other local requirements.
- Ensure alignment with the Design Management Plan (DMP) and manage design changes effectively.
- Coordinate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders for seamless integration of design elements.
- Apply value engineering principles during conceptual and basic design phases.
- Take an active leadership role in design and engineering meetings.
- Manage offshore design teams and resources to meet project milestones.
- Oversee Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely and efficient resolution to prevent delays.
- Define and maintain Design Deliverables Register (DDR).
- Organize and lead weekly follow-up meetings with offshore teams to track deliverables, discuss risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prioritize RFIs from clients and authorities, preparing necessary presentations and reports.
- Review and update design schedules on a weekly basis.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Project Director.
Project-Specific Requirements: - Regular site visits to the Eyre Peninsula project location.
- Desalination expertise is mandatory.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.

- Health & Safety - Ensure strict adherence to WHS regulations.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in desalination projects and multidisciplinary design teams.
Proven ability to lead and manage offshore design teams.
Strong knowledge of Australian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in design management, value engineering, and risk assessment.
