The Opportunity

Our Drill & Blast Crew at Olive Downs is expanding - we are seeking experienced Senior Shotfirer, Shotfirers, MPU & Stemming Operators & Driller Offsiders to join Thiess for Pembroke Resource's project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.

Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-east of Moranbah and commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has recently been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning, overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure.

About The Roles

Working 7/7 dayshift with the possibility of night shift being introduced (additional night shift rate applies) and reporting through to the Drill & Blast Supervisors, you will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the relevant position.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • A Valid QLD Shotfirer Licence and/or explosives clearance and Drivers' Licence
  • Current Standard 11
  • RII Mobile Mixing of Explosives competency where required
  • Experience in your chosen field and the use of electronic initiation systems
  • Demonstrated compliance with safety and a good knowledge of explosive regulations
  • Operational experience in Mobile Processing Units/Stemming/Shotfirer and/or Drills
  • Ability to operate a loader, bobcat and stemming truck is desirable
