Your new role:

We're looking for people who have a real drive to make a difference-for our customers, for each other, and for CSC.

This role involves undertaking administrative duties and providing executive support to the General Counsel, including supporting the Governance and Board Services team to deliver services in support of CSC's Board.

The role is key to supporting the General Counsel in the successful management General Counsel team. The role has a particular focus on assisting with the corporate secretariate (Governance and Board Services) function. This includes diary management, meeting coordination, travel bookings, attending Board meetings, arranging Board and Board Committee meeting logistics (including liaison with Directors and Senior Executives), compilation of Board paper packs, and other support/duties as necessary.

This position is based in Canberra. Applicants are required to relocate if successful for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective diary management: organising meetings, collating and preparing documents, and coordination relevant to scheduling meetings, such as booking travel, meeting spaces and arranging catering.
  • Organising arrangements for the General Counsel's meetings, including assisting in room set up and clearing (teleconference, videoconferencing etc.)
  • Booking and managing domestic and international travel and accommodation for the General Counsel, the team, and Directors.
  • Travelling interstate to support CSC Staff, Committee members and Directors at Board and Committee meetings (overnight and day travel will be required in this role - approximately 4 -6 times per year).
  • Managing information and correspondence flow, processing information requests, updating and modifying records, operating and maintaining the secure online Board portal and producing routine documents for the Board and Board Committees.
  • Effective record keeping including capturing meeting and training attendance, capturing declared gifts duties and interests and key document filing.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships, including interacting effectively with Directors, committee members and staff at all levels.
  • In relation to team meetings: prepare agendas, distribute papers and attend and take minutes (if requested).
  • Prioritising and following up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the General Counsel, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature.
  • Providing a bridge for smooth communication between the General Counsel and internal business functions; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support with senior management staff.
  • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks for the General Counsel and Senior Manager Governance and Board Services.
Desired Skills and Experience

What you need to excel:

You will possess below technical expertise and experience:

  • Experience in an administrative coordination, travel or event coordination role
  • Previous experience in providing EA support to a Senior Executive, preferably an Executive with Governance and/or Legal focus
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Experience in a busy and multifaceted role
  • Qualifications in business administration or event planning/management (desired but not essential)
