About the Opportunity

Step into a newly created, pivotal role at Cardinia Shire Council, where your expertise will be the driving force behind the transformation of our Maternal & Child Health (MCH) services. Lead the way in designing, reviewing, and implementing innovative processes, policies, and procedures that align with our goals and legislative requirements, ensuring a lasting and positive impact on the community.

You will make an impact by

  • Leading and fostering a learning environment for MCH clinical staff.
  • Coordinating and implementing induction, orientation, and supervision programs.
  • Developing and supporting strategies to attract and promote students and graduates.
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives to enhance service performance and client outcomes.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you will bring

  • Current national registration with AHPRA as a Division 1 Registered Nurse, and as a Registered Midwife, and holds an accredited postgraduate degree/diploma (or equivalent) in Child & Family Health/Maternal and Child Health nursing.
  • Possession of a recognised education qualification e.g. Certificate IV in Assessment and Training is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing education programs and preceptorship of students.
  • Experience working in MCH nursing for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs. Knowledge of contemporary practice and evidence-based research in MCH.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide accurate and timely reports and advice.
  • Ability to work in partnership with others to achieve outcomes and shared goals; and ensure the voices of key stakeholders are included.
