The Role
Join our esteemed educational institution as we seek a highly qualified classroom teacher to fill a fixed term, full-time vacancy in our English learning area, commencing at the beginning of Semester 2 until the end of 2025 at our Wheelers Hill Campus.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a profound passion for English, with expertise in teaching English and English Language at our senior levels. They will captivate and stimulate students through innovative learning technologies and forward-thinking teaching practices. We seek an individual with high energy and enthusiasm, dedicated to creating dynamic and engaging learning environments. As part of our team, they will work collaboratively to achieve learning area goals, inspiring students and fostering their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Key Duties
- Evaluate students' skills to create a flexible, individualised curriculum in English that addresses their specific needs and goals.
- Implement learning programs based on research into how students learn, using formative assessment techniques to adjust instruction and enhance engagement and understanding.
- Continuously refine teaching strategies and activities using student feedback and assessment data to improve lesson plans and delivery.
- Develop student-centred activities that promote exploration and innovation in product design, encouraging practical application of theoretical knowledge.
- Set high expectations to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture, fostering creativity and problem-solving.
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience teaching English and English Language in Years 9-11.
- Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to students' academic and personal growth.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex design concepts effectively and engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Committed to ongoing professional development, keeping up-to-date with current trends in English literature, and maintaining a proactive attitude.
- Experience with the MYP (IB Middle Years Program) is preferred.
- Holds a current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications specialised in English or related fields.
