ABOUT THIS ROLE
As an Enterprise Architect, you will provide expert leadership to help define and implement architecture standards and frameworks that promote integration, consistency and efficiency across the ONI and the wider NIC. You will collaborate directly with stakeholders to ensure that ONI's technology strategy supports the overarching mission of enhancing national security.
ONI is seeking to engage one (1) full-time labour hire contractor for the provision of enterprise architecture services to support its Digital and Data Division. The role is to be performed in ONI's offices in Barton, ACT, with flexible working arrangements to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Working arrangements: Onsite, 5 days a week.
Maximum hours: 40 hours per week
Security clearance: An active TOP SECRET POSITIVE VETTING (TSPV) clearance is required for this role. Contract execution is subject to ONI clearance recognition which may take several weeks.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide strategic, technical leadership to the ONI enterprise, guiding the adoption and implementation of technology solutions in accordance with the ONI Digital Strategy.
- Provide strategic, technical leadership to the NIC, ensuring the Community is aligned, achieving best return on government investment and enhancing its technical interoperability.
- Establish and maintain a robust governance framework for strategic architectural decision making within ONI, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Offer expert technical advice and assurance to the senior leadership and decision-making bodies as required.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive overview of the ONI Enterprise Architecture, collating data to inform future architectural decisions, enhance resilience and identify dependencies within ONI and the broader NIC.
- Lead and facilitate technical architecture forums for ONI and the NIC, promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing across technical teams.
- Collaborate with senior ONI technologists to drive the development and endorsement of whole-of-organisation technology guiding principles, including delivery of essential architectural artefacts.
- Provide leadership, technical guidance and support to ONI solutions architects.
- Represent ONI on international advisory and working groups, ensuring alignment with international technical and security standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in field of expertise.
- Formal training and demonstrated application of technical architecture methodology in one or more disciplines, including enterprise, solutions or network architecture.
- Demonstrated engagement skills, including ability to lead complex technical discussions to reach common understanding and agreement from a broad range of technical specialists.
- Excellent communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leaders.
- Experience working in one or more NIC agencies in a capability delivery capacity.
