Job Description

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Financial Operations Controller for our energy client located in North Houston. Role is 4 days per week in office and 1 day per week remote and will oversee a staff of three and 25% travel within the United States.



Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and 10+ years of experience required


5+ years of supervisory /managerial experience of staff required


Financial experience in the US energy services / upstream oil & gas sector required


Strong knowledge of oil & gas operations required


CPA / MBA a plus




Responsibilities:


This hands-on position will lead Finance and Accounting matters for the US Energy Services operations division and will report to the VP of Finance and support the SVP of US Operations.


Assure accuracy of monthly, quarterly and yearly financials and explain any variances vs forecast, budget, etc.


Guides business team to successful achievement of financial goals and objectives


Partners with Operations Managers and Executives to drive business goals and objectives


Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis for all U.S. Energy Services regions


Ability to analyze data from the ERP reporting systems in place (JDE), Power BI, Insight, etc.) for financial analytics and reporting purposes


Improves current system processes to by automation of information, alignment of processes across the business to streamline close financial and operational processes


Identifies and analyze cost drivers to ensure efficient cost management


Ensure internal controls are followed to ensure compliance with audit standards and expectations


Reports monthly financials to Executive Leadership and create monthly Financial Business Review packages for U.S. Energy Services operations and report / present them on a monthly basis


Review CapEx requests to justify investment opportunities as well as perform lookback CapEx analysis to ensure returns are achieved


Manages financial capital; communicate capital requirements/ implications of business decisions to leadership and decision makers




Requirements:



Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting required


10+ years of experience in Accounting and Finance including 5 years of supervisory experience


Strong analytical, ERP and accounting skills focused on operations accounting and finance


Recent experience and knowledge of onshore energy services operations required


CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience a plus


Bilingual Spanish / English a plus



BASE SALARY OF $160K - $190K DOE PLUS BONUS, LTI AND BENEFITS
