Job Description
Front End Developer

About the role:

As a Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient web applications that contribute to the organisation's goals. You will play a key role in designing and implementing user-facing components and developing scalable APIs while ensuring they align with agile principles, industry standards, and software lifecycle practices.

Mandatory Requirement:

  • Government Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain baseline government or NV-1 clearance.
  • Citizenship Requirement: Must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for this role.

4+ years of experience in front-end development using Java, JavaScript, Angular, React, HTML, and CSS.

The successful candidate:

  • Experience with NodeJS: Proficient in working with NodeJS to support front-end and back-end integration.
  • Agile Experience: Hands-on experience working within agile development environments.
  • Software Lifecycle Expertise: Knowledge of secure software lifecycle practices, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Frameworks & Standards: Familiarity with industry frameworks (such as ITIL or similar) to guide development improvements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail, along with an ability to resolve technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills, working independently or within a team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Degree in IT / Software Engineering
  • Experience working in government or public sector environments.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and how to apply them in front-end development.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

What's on offer?

This contract is available for an initial 6 months with extensions. This role is available in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane & Canberra.
