The Role

We have exciting opportunities across our Middle and Senior Schools at our Caulfield Secondary Campus commencing 1 January 2026.

The Head of School ensures the School's Vision, Purpose, and Values are upheld, fostering a dynamic, inclusive culture focused on student growth, staff collaboration, and parent engagement. Reporting to the Deputy Principal - Head of Campus, the Head of School provides strategic leadership of their Sub-School and oversees daily operations with the Deputy Head of School, ensuring seamless coordination of logistics, operations, and events that support every student.

As a key member of the Campus Leadership Team, the Head of School leads the Heads and Assistant Heads of House, strengthening pastoral care; collaborates with the Campus Head of Teaching and Learning to align academic priorities; supports pastoral and academic teams, including Counselling and Careers, to deliver holistic student support; and contributes to initiatives that enhance student outcomes and staff effectiveness.

These are 5-year fixed term Positions of Responsibility commencing 1 January 2026.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • Minimum 5 years proven record as an outstanding teacher.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and assessment across multiple year levels, ensuring high academic standards.
  • Experience leading/managing a large team including goal setting, managing performance and providing feedback and recognition.
  • Experience thriving in pastoral environments.
  • Data literacy, with the ability to effectively analyse and use data to enhance student learning and inform decisions.
  • Commitment to professional growth, continuous improvement, and alignment with school-wide priorities.
  • Focused and pragmatic thinker, capable of implementing change clearly and effectively.
  • Positive and solution-focused, fostering a culture of excellence across all year levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire others.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, initiative and approachability.
