The Role

We have exciting leadership opportunities at both our Caulfield and Wheelers Hill Secondary Campus commencing 1 January 2026.

Reporting to the Deputy Principal - Head of Campus, the Campus Head of Teaching and Learning plays a vital role in shaping the student learning experience, leading the way in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and teaching practices. This role is dedicated to elevating academic achievement, fostering a culture of curiosity and excellence, and ensuring that every student thrives in a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

Beyond curriculum leadership, this role inspires and equips teaching staff to create classrooms where students are challenged, supported, and motivated to excel. It champions high-impact teaching, professional growth, and collaboration, driving continuous improvement and innovation. Working closely with the broader School Teaching and Learning team, the Campus Head of Teaching and Learning ensures that teaching practices reflect the latest research and best practice. A key focus is using student learning and assessment insights to refine approaches, enhance teaching effectiveness, and achieve outstanding outcomes across the campus.

As a leader at Caulfield Grammar, you'll work alongside a passionate and highly skilled team of educators, staff, and leadership, promoting collaboration and innovation in a supportive environment.

These are 5-year fixed term Positions of Responsibility commencing in January 2026.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • Minimum 5 years proven record as an outstanding teacher.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and communicate effectively to foster trust among students, parents, and staff, while strengthening and aligning pedagogical practices across the middle and senior years.
  • Inspired leadership with a focus on growth and development of themselves and others.
  • Experience in leading strategic projects and ability to drive change and inspire a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals and thinking into operational plans and priorities.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills and ability to give and receive feedback in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to use data to inform decisions and drive student outcomes.
  • Skilled in building strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to positively influence outcomes.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented leader dedicated to student wellbeing across all year levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire others.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative and approachability.
