About the Opportunity

As part of the People Program, the People Services Adviser will provide advice, guidance, and support to leaders and employees throughout the employee lifecycle.

The People Services Adviser will also play a critical role in supporting the Team Leader (TL) People Services and People Services Business Partners (PSBPs) in delivering a wide range of people-related services and initiatives across the organisation to foster a positive working environment.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Business Partnering for allocated team/s
  • Position/job evaluations
  • Providing HR advice and support to leaders and employees, in the following:
    • Performance Management
    • Award/Enterprise Agreement interpretation, CoA policies/operating guidelines
    • Onboarding and offboarding
    • HR systems, processes, and letter creation
  • Assisting the TL & PSBP's on people initiatives, research, enterprise agreements
  • Working with the recruitment team to support leaders in recruitment and contract management.

Please note that the formal title of this position is 'People Services Adviser' in line with the naming conventions of the City of Adelaide.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in an HR advisory role or similar position.
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support organisational goals and initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and people policies.
  • Experience in interpreting Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in preparing documents, emails, and presenting information clearly and professionally.
  • Commitment to placing the customer at the centre of everything we do, demonstrated through the provision of timely, consistent, and reliable advice.
