Job Description

In your role you will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing media. Activities include:

  1. Plan development and investment maintenance;
  2. Working with Strategy & Planning to develop recommendations for client campaigns;
  3. Tracking all aspects of campaigns (i.e. authorizations, specifications, reports, buy changes, etc.);
  4. Collaborating with the Insights team on reporting and analysis to benchmark and value reporting;
  5. Managing relationships with media partners.

Key Relationships

Internal Departments: Collaborate closely with your client team, including client leads, comms planners, strategy leads, the Implementation & Activation Executive team, and other agency and group departments to manage expectations and collectively deliver the strongest outcomes for clients.

Media Owners: Establish strong relationships with our media partners at a Sales Executive level.

External: Establish a deep understanding of our client's business and build strong relationships with creative agencies.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Engage with our media partners to build knowledge of the media landscape and understanding of core media principles and the capabilities of each media touchpoint.
  2. Engage with internal product teams including GroupM proprietary solutions teams to ensure you have an understanding about their offerings and relevance to our clients.
  3. Activate approved media plans, ensuring campaign deliverables are met consistently across all touchpoints.
  4. Book, load, confirm, traffic, optimise, track and post-analyse client media campaigns.
  5. Support the construction of insightful and progressive post-analysis reports.
  6. Responsible for ensuring all financial and compliance processes are followed with 100% accuracy, including bookings and loadings, account queries, and monthly reporting.
  7. Seek to find, communicate, and implement improvements in all aspects of the role.
  8. Dedicate time to self-learning through reading industry publications, research papers, and online courses (including GroupM University and MFA).
  9. Provide clear guidance and instruction when teaching & helping others.
  10. Openly communicate and collaborate with all internal key stakeholders on delivery and reporting regularly.

The role involves the application of specialist technical skills and relative autonomy of decision-making. It is not a position to which any industrial award applies.

The Experience You Will Need to Perform This Role

  1. Practical knowledge of the media landscape.
  2. Relevant experience in Media or Marketing.
  3. High level technical skills in organization, communication, problem-solving, strategic thought, and proactive management.
  4. Demonstrates a clear understanding of clients' business, category & challenges.
  5. Keeps abreast of key market and media trends, developments, or changes that will impact any buying performance & proactively communicates these to the client.
  6. Demonstrates knowledge of relevant media partners across each field - has awareness of relevant assets and how they can be used in a media strategy.
  7. Able to write & provide comprehensive Media Briefs to media partners using our templates.
  8. Can challenge and negotiate with media owners.
