Job Description

A great opportunity for someone looking for their next step to expand on their experience in residential construction. Hands on, site based, this role will manage the daily work activities of the Leading Hands and Labourers onsite and maintain a tidy and orderly construction site for presentation and safety purposes.

Position Description:

  1. Build and maintain close working relationships with contractors and suppliers and manage adequate resourcing as required.
  2. On occasions be involved/complete other activities days, which include open days, catch up works and site lock up.
  3. Follow the supervisor's instructions and communicate with them daily regarding delays, risks and incomplete works.
  4. Undertake and delegate works required by the company that do not always form part of a trade specific scope of works.
  5. Complete daily updates and input relevant sign offs into the construction program.
  6. Complete the required site safety audits and attend at a minimum one external safety audit per month.
  7. Inspect and complete any requested hold point quality checklists.
  8. Take requested homebuyer update and construction stage photos (including the uploading to Onsite).
  9. Support in the training and development of Leading Hands and Labourers.
  10. Meet the homebuyer at the pre-settlement inspection and ensure all items identified in this inspection are completed prior to new home handover.

Position Requirements:

  1. Tertiary and/or trade qualification in building or construction related discipline.
  2. Experience as a Leading Hand (or trade qualification) in a residential construction environment.
  3. Experience and understanding of working in fast-paced residential construction building sites.
  4. Certificate 4 in WHS or willingness to obtain.
  5. Must hold a current white card.
  6. Hold a current First Aid Certificate or a refresher can be arranged.
  7. Up-to-date knowledge on safety, building standards and codes.
  8. Demonstrated experience in managing subcontractors and trade service providers.
