About the role

The People Culture and Standards Division works in partnership with all Divisions within the Department and beyond to instill a values-based culture. It is the custodian of the Department of Justice's integrity framework which provides an integrated governance approach to protect the Department's integrity, expose and prevent misconduct, corruption, fraud and theft.

The Investigative Assistant provides a range of administrative, secretarial and research-based support to the Investigation and Assessment teams within Professional Standards. The position is responsible for the provision of administrative support in response to investigative demands, the recording and tracking of information and producing and analysing documents. In addition, the position ensures that the Investigations team has the necessary resources and support to effectively manage daily operations to provide a consistent service.

It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining a negative vetting level one security clearance as a condition of employment and maintaining the clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian citizens are eligible to hold the negative vetting level one security clearance.

All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
