About the Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Psychological Assessment) to join the Department of Psychological Sciences at Swinburne University. The successful applicant will provide clinical teaching and supervision of psychological assessment in the Swinburne Psychology Clinic and undertake teaching-related duties in our postgraduate and undergraduate psychology programs.
In this education-focused role, you will be responsible for delivering high quality and inclusive educational experiences for our students and leading and championing educational initiatives across the University. You will be responsible for clinical teaching and supervision, assessing progress toward key competencies and supporting students in the Swinburne Psychology Clinic and School of Health Sciences. You will provide guidance to students on academic matters, support consistency and quality of report writing by postgraduate students completing their professional training in the Swinburne Psychology Clinic and contribute generally to the academic life of the University.
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, you will also engage with relevant industries, communities and professional bodies, as needed, to ensure our courses are industry relevant and effectively prepare students for their future careers.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated clinical experience in administering, interpreting, reporting and supervising psychometric assessments of children and adults. Expertise with Wechsler scales is required.
- Demonstrated commitment to best practices in education, including using a range of pedagogical approaches (blended and online formats), work-integrated learning and the use of educational technology.
- Proven experience in supporting students from diverse backgrounds and designing inclusive and equitable learning environments.
- High level of oral and written communication skills in supporting students, university staff and contacts in the outside business environment.
- Experience in clinical teaching and supervision (preferred - Level B)
- Significant experience in clinical teaching and supervision (essential - Level C)
Qualifications
- A Doctoral degree (PhD or DPsych) is preferred
- Registration with AHPRA with a relevant area of practice endorsement
- Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisor
