Join a leading global renewable energy company that develops, constructs, and operates large-scale wind, solar and hydrogen projects. As the APAC lead for a strong global legal team, you'll play a pivotal role driving projects from greenfield to financial close and successful delivery and operations. Negotiate key contracts, joint ventures and commercial agreements, land access, construction contracts, connection and power purchase agreements and M&A in a very commercial and dynamic role. Key Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts for renewable energy projects, including JV agreements, EPC contracts and subcontracts, connection and power purchase agreements
- Provide legal and commercial counsel during the project development and construction phases
- Lead negotiations with government bodies, NSPs and the energy regulators and manage legal process for land access and connection agreements
- Liaise with JV partners, investors and lenders to provide legal advice on project financing, deal structuring and M&A
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project-related legal matters, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Implement global legal frameworks, developing and adjusting templates and processes to the local regulatory environment
- Develop and maintain innovative contractual solutions to address legal challenges
Qualifications
- Qualified Australian lawyer at least 6 years PQE in a top tier legal firm or in house position within a global energy business.
- Proven experience providing legal advice in the development and construction of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects.
- Strong expertise in land access processes and M&A for large-scale construction projects.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
