This roster will be 5/2 4/3 residential roster and a 9 hour day, must be residential in Cloncurry.

This role is responsible for managing mining operations in a safe, sustainable, and efficient manner while ensuring production targets, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives are met. The Manager - Mining will oversee operational budgets, support long-term planning, and foster a strong safety culture within the team.

Your key result areas are:

• Ensure underground mining production targets are achieved.
• Manage operational budgets, including labour, services, and maintenance costs.
• Support and implement long-term strategic planning in collaboration with Technical Services.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement to enhance safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Oversee the execution of optimisation and expansion projects.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and promote best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure effective personnel selection, training, development, and performance management.
• Mentor and support team members in achieving their career potential.

This role reports to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing underground mining operations within a safe, sustainable, and efficient environment. The Manager - Mining will ensure production targets are met, operational budgets are effectively managed, and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented. A key focus of the role is driving strategic planning, fostering a culture of safety and teamwork, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Leading the mine operations team, this role requires strong leadership and management capabilities to guide staff towards achieving business objectives. Collaboration with other departments is essential to optimize processes, improve efficiencies, and deliver high operational standards. The Manager - Mining will also play a critical role in mentoring and developing future leaders within the team.

• Relevant bachelor's degree in a mining-related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of metalliferous mining experience, with at least 7 years in technical and operational leadership roles within underground mining.
• Exposure to mass mining techniques (highly regarded).
• Strong understanding of statutory requirements and risk management.
• Proven leadership and management competencies to guide mine operations staff.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
• Ability to build relationships across functions and operations.
• High professional standards, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
