  • Summary of the Role:
  • The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapy interventions to support children and adolescents in achieving their developmental milestones and functional goals. The role involves working collaboratively with families, educators, and other healthcare professionals to enhance children's independence and participation in daily activities.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Assess children's fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy plans tailored to children's needs
  • Provide play-based and functional therapy to improve engagement and participation
  • Support children with sensory processing challenges, self-care skills, and handwriting difficulties
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and educators to provide recommendations and strategies
  • Conduct group therapy programs and workshops for parents and caregivers
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic, family-centred care
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working with paediatric clients (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for play-based therapy and early intervention
  • Ability to work with children from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth
