Job Description

Our client is looking for a dedicated Payroll Officer to join their dynamic team. You will be responsible for ensuring operational compliance with internal policies and procedures, legislative and taxation standards, and processing high-volume payroll.

What you'll do:

  • Act as the first point of contact for payroll enquiries, providing quality payroll advice and support.
  • Prepare and input payroll and human resource information including accurate processing of timesheets, schedules, leave applications, wage classifications and higher duties.
  • Process the weekly payment cycle and assist with checking and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity.
  • Prepare forms and reports in relation to payroll deductions - for instance Child Support, Centrelink, taxation and related correspondence.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required.

What you'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll function in a medium to large organisation.
  • Sound knowledge of Industrial Awards and Agreements, relevant legislation governing payroll and superannuation.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to meet weekly deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing quality customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products as well as experience with electronic payroll systems such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
