The Opportunity North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of five Alliance partners - John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals. Since 2017, NWPA has had a proven track record with the successful delivery of eight level crossing removal projects (13 LX) and several premium stations, with two projects currently in delivery (4 LX) and three in development phase. We're looking for a People, Capability and Inclusion Director to provide strategic and operational support to the Alliance Management team and NWPA projects, which will include providing leadership and guidance relating to all human resource matters such as recruitment, training and development, performance management, workforce planning and other HR matters.
Key responsibilities include: - Provide strategic HR input into the project, ensuring best practice, conditions and deliverables are implemented ultimately impacting project delivery.
- Build and lead a team of dedicated project-based People resources across HR operations, social procurement, workforce development and training.
- Provide strategic leadership on all people related matters to the project leadership team.
- Development and implementation of project specific HR strategies, policies and procedures.
- Proactively share ER lessons learnt with project delivery staff to mitigate risks to the project.
- Coach and guide managers through all people related matters balancing best for project outcomes and employee experience.
- Develop innovative initiatives and influence project stakeholders to increase local, Indigenous, female and new entrant participation on the project.
- In collaboration with the enterprise and business unit people teams, lead the People activities for the project including employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, performance and development, remuneration reviews, training, and project lifecycle initiatives.

Position Requirements - Extensive experience providing strategic HR leadership and senior level experience across relevant HR disciplines, including experience in large complex organisations and projects (experience working on major construction projects will be highly regarded).
- Expert knowledge of human resources, employee relations and employment law in Australia.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to work cross functionally, building strong business partnerships.
- Ability to problem solve, think laterally, formulate plans, coach and provide advice to senior management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to create effective teams with a focus on delivering outcomes.
- Strong business acumen and communication skills.
- Someone who engenders trust, highly influential and confidential.
