About the role

  • Enhance teacher capacity and effectiveness
  • Model high-quality teaching & learning and mentoring & coaching
  • Ensure improved educational outcomes for students and continuous school improvement
  • Lead and coordinate curriculum implementation
  • Promote effective teaching and improved achievement in all curriculum areas
  • Provide professional support in the use of data to track student progress at individual, cohort, and whole school levels, making modifications to improve student outcomes, and plan for further learning
  • Promote consistent application of the Achievement Standards in evaluating student achievement
  • Provide teachers with feedback on classroom pedagogy and planning
  • Support teachers in the use of formative assessment to inform teaching and curriculum decision-making
  • Facilitate an understanding of the literacy and numeracy demands and practices within each curriculum area
  • Promote explicit, planned teaching of literacy in the early years as a means of supporting students' development and engagement in numeracy and other curriculum areas
  • Monitor and analyse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student achievement data in literacy to accelerate literacy progress

About you

  • A minimum of 5 years teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in implementing the Australian Curriculum
  • Capacity to develop interpersonal relationships, establish productive partnerships, and work as part of a team to lead change
  • Capacity to lead and manage activities which promote the engagement, learning progress, and achievement of students
  • Success as a classroom teacher and commitment to professional development
  • Ability to promote consistent application of the Achievement Standards in evaluating student achievement
  • Skills in providing teachers with feedback on classroom pedagogy and planning
  • Proven ability to encourage the implementation of effective whole-school teaching practices in line with BCE strategies
  • Ability to support teachers in the use of formative assessment to inform teaching and curriculum decision-making
  • Understanding of the literacy and numeracy demands and practices within each curriculum area in promoting explicit, planned teaching of literacy in the early years
  • Ability to monitor and analyse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student achievement data in literacy to accelerate literacy progress

At BCE our teachers are required to:

  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Have a commitment to Safeguarding
