Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the financial health of our projects by managing budgets, tracking costs, and working closely with project managers to provide accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting, understands job costing, and can thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain financial records for multiple construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Track project costs, budgets, and forecasts to ensure financial performance aligns with expectations.
Process invoices, subcontractor payments, and job-related expenses while ensuring proper documentation.
Collaborate with project managers to review and analyze project financials, including revenue recognition and cost allocations.
Prepare and submit progress billings, lien waivers, and other financial documentation to clients and subcontractors.
Monitor contract terms and change orders, ensuring they are accurately recorded and reflected in project financials.
Assist with month-end closing, general ledger reconciliations, and WIP (work-in-progress) reporting.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and industry regulations.
Support external audits and financial reviews as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in construction or project-based accounting.
Knowledge of job costing, AIA billing, and construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar).
Strong understanding of GAAP and construction-specific financial principles.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and finance teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.
