Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a permanent full-time basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight).

Duties
  • Provide advice and work with a range of stakeholders, including Local Government, to facilitate the provision of appropriate and well-planned infrastructure projects that support sport and active recreation in Tasmania.
  • Assist with the development and production of resources to support the planning and development of facilities and environments to support participation in sport and active recreation within Tasmania.
  • Identify and respond to emerging sport and active recreation infrastructure issues and trends through the development and maintenance of positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, monitor and evaluate projects and formulate appropriate recommendations for consideration by Active Tasmania management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of key policies including open space, facility provision, resource sharing, outdoor recreation, risk management and inclusion to ensure the successful delivery of Active Tasmania's objectives and desired outcomes.
  • Support grant program development and administration.
  • Prepare high-level briefing notes, correspondence, documentation and ministerial responses on sport and active recreation issues as required.
  • Represent the Department in a range of relevant forums.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Project Manager - Planning and Facilities.
