Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Control Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and financial management of water infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project controls, risk management, and construction methodologies specific to water projects. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to optimize project performance while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop Project Methods:
- Define construction methodologies and plans for technical submissions to asset owners in the water industry.
- Ensure project designs meet budget, constructability, and sustainability requirements.
- Identify and mitigate design risks that may impact water infrastructure operations.
- Manage quantity tracking throughout the design phase to enable accurate cost tracking.
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainable solutions in water treatment and distribution projects.
- Engage in high-level critical analysis to address complex regulatory and environmental challenges.
- Develop long-term, organization-wide solutions that improve project efficiency and environmental compliance.
- Ensure governance systems are in place to guarantee quality analysis and adherence to industry best practices.
Manage Project Schedules:- Develop and manage cost plans and project cash flow for water treatment and desalination projects.
- Establish contract programs that track obligations, identify delays, and assess claims effectively.
- Identify long-term opportunities aligned with water industry trends and regulatory requirements.
- Drive initiatives to adapt to policy changes affecting water infrastructure development.
- Ensure robust governance and project management systems are in place.
- Make informed decisions on project feasibility based on financial and environmental impact assessments.
- Secure stakeholder commitment to major project strategies and ensure transparent communication.
- Manage risks specific to water projects and implement strategies to mitigate variances.
- Drive changes to maximize business benefits and project outcomes.
- Manage contractual submissions related to Extensions of Time and other project adjustments.
Manage Construction Engineering Activities:- Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams working on water infrastructure projects.
- Ensure construction activities align with budget, sustainability, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proactively manage risks throughout the construction phase of water projects.
- Oversee quantity tracking to maintain accurate budget assessments.
- Implement effective systems for measuring performance and accountability in project execution.
- Promote a culture of responsibility and excellence in water project management.
- Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with environmental and health regulations.
- Champion financial integrity and responsible resource management in water infrastructure development.
- Develop risk management frameworks to ensure project objectives are achieved effectively.
Apply Digital Engineering Tools:- Lead digital transformation efforts in project record-keeping and platform sharing.
- Drive the adoption of innovative technologies for water infrastructure monitoring and management.
- Engage with industry bodies to implement best practices in Digital Engineering for water projects.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership in managing project controls for water treatment, desalination, and wastewater projects.
- Ability to apply lateral thinking and develop innovative, long-term solutions for sustainable water management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and compliance in water infrastructure development.
