Receptionist & Office Administrator

Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a vibrant and professional Receptionist & Office Administrator to join our team at our Wadhurst campus.

The Receptionist & Office Administrator is a primary customer service contact for the School, supporting the delivery of reception and administration for Wadhurst. Communicating clearly and tactfully in all situations, the Receptionist & Office Administrator is responsible for the efficient delivery of administrative procedures, ranging from database maintenance and accurate recording of student absences to general administrative support for the Head of Wadhurst, including diary management.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday, during school term time only, and is based at the School's South Yarra campus.

Wadhurst is Melbourne Grammar School's purpose-built middle school learning community for boys in Years 7 and 8. Wadhurst specializes in educating 12 to 14 year olds by addressing the transition from childhood to adolescence. The School is located at our South Yarra campus and is attended by approximately 400 boarders and day boys.

You will

  1. Be a professional and informed point of contact for callers and direct them to the appropriate person or take messages as required.
  2. Provide a warm and professional reception for all visitors to the school, including staff and parents.
  3. Maintain the school's database with relevant and accurate data relating to student absences and attendance.
  4. Undertake administrative duties including the preparation and delivery of reports and correspondence.
  5. Support Heads of House with administrative tasks related to House programs and events.
  6. Liaise with various members of the community such as students, staff, and parents.
  7. Provide initial First Aid assistance for students as required, liaising with the School's Health Centre.
