Job Description

There are a number of roles for volunteers who want to help us run our units as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Regional units are based at the following locations:

  1. Geelong
  2. Sunshine

Volunteers at our regional units provide valuable support to our other operational units, contributing to the smooth operation of incident management and administration of large-scale events.

Regional unit volunteers have many roles including incident management team support, land search, community engagement, public relations, and Field Operation Vehicle support.

These volunteers have, or develop skills in:

  • Using technology and information systems for intelligence gathering.
  • Situational analysis reporting.
  • Incident management team support.

We need people who:

  • Are readily available within the area and can respond quickly when required.
  • Have a willingness to learn and contribute to the unit.
  • Have the availability to participate in regular training sessions.
  • Have an ability and desire to work cooperatively with others.
  • Possess high level verbal, written, and computer literacy or who want to learn these skills.

Different levels of physical fitness may be required for members of a support unit, depending on your role. Roles managing assets and facilities, membership, and finance and administration do not require a specific level of physical fitness. If you provide support to operations in a field role (not in an office), you may be required to meet specific physical fitness requirements for those roles.
