1. Perform and may be asked to lead more complex software/hardware TSP creation, test setups/troubleshooting, engine calibration, emissions testing, testing of customer/internal hardware/software for review and approval by the project team.
2. Create and update BOMs, wiring diagrams, drawings, electrical schematics, test plans, training material, and O&M manuals for the customer, WISE, and EFMS as necessary to support the project/team.
3. Coordinate project milestones/project scope and ensure activities associated with the PLC process and department level procedures are adhered to for check-in to WPDS, EFMS, and WISE.
4. Attend or possibly lead design reviews both internally and with customers to resolve technical and programming issues. Create and execute test plans for V&V efforts.
5. Participate and perform action items as a team member or lead projects involving other engineers and cross-functional team members.
6. Mentor and assist level 1 and 2 engineers in the startup of the new product/system along with field service personnel after factory testing has concluded.
7. Regularly interface with customers, sales reps, vendors, project/program managers, and field service personnel.
8. Participate in international and multi-site projects.
9. Participate or lead projects in analyzing and sizing of third-party internal/external products and definition.
10. Support the commercial group in proposal creation, technical support for commercial offers, and customer presentations.
11. Create product specifications, software, and application literature for Minor Scope Projects/Systems.
12. Provide support to customers and the Customer Service group to maintain existing designs and resolve customer field issues.
13. Look for opportunities to co-author papers with other engineers on complex or novel research assignments.
14. Promote and implement process improvements company-wide.
15. Fully proficient with GAP software and associated operator interface/HMI software to support test setups and debug recommendations.
16. Mentor/Support level 1-2 Application Engineers with Technical oversight and approval.
17. Participate in company marketing and sales activities, and industry technical meetings and conferences.
18. May be accountable for emissions certification support or regulatory compliance support for products and systems.
19. Research and provide marketing technical analysis and market-based research of new technologies and competitive analysis.
20. Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to operate in a project team environment.
21. Assist with the development of department and organization procedures.
22. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills including presentations; write and communicate technical reports.
23. Demonstrate competent skills in complex problem solving and troubleshooting.
24. Demonstrate competent knowledge of appropriate WISE applications such as BOM, Item Master, NCR, Warranty, EC screens, and part tracking.
25. Have a working knowledge of standards and the ability to apply complex groupings of standards into designs.
26. Demonstrate competent use and understanding of design tools and basic use of DFSS tools and methodologies.
27. Be a company expert on a selected group of products or technologies.
28. Demonstrate leadership skills; ability to drive results across organizational boundaries.
