About the Opportunity
As a Senior People and Wellbeing Business Partner at the University of Tasmania, you'll play a crucial role within assigned client groups. Acting as a trusted advisor to the University's leaders and managers, you will be instrumental in shaping a people-centered culture and delivering a wide range of initiatives with both transformational and operational impacts.
In this role, you will focus on collaboration and support, working closely with the broader People and Wellbeing team to promote and embody the University's values. You'll contribute to productive partnerships, ensuring comprehensive HR advice and support, provide expert guidance in developing workforce strategies, organisational design, and people plan. This role will see you implementing and embedding programs that align with the University's strategic direction. Your expertise will be essential in various strategic and operational initiatives, including change programs, development programs, and culture and engagement initiatives.
What's required
- Demonstrated extensive professional HR experience in large and/or complex organisations, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
- A deep understanding of, and the ability to translate, the relevant University employment frameworks, policies, procedures, systems and processes with the ability to identify the root cause and create the best outcome.
- Proven ability to coach people managers for career development, expectation setting and resetting, performance improvement and exit if appropriate.
- Ability to discover root cause issues to organisation performance, including the ability to discover and diagnose with emotional intelligence as well as deriving deep insights from data and analytics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with and influence all levels of stakeholders, including the ability to resolve conflict.
- Ability to see through the eyes of a people manager and understand their strategic priorities at a high level to ensure appropriate advice and counsel is provided.
- Ensure attention to detail and have the ability to hold position under pressure.

Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $147,035 comprising base salary within the range of $110,524 to $125,671 plus 17% superannuation.
