About the Position:
As a Senior Development Planner, you will:
- Assess and manage complex development proposals, including structure plans and major applications.
- Lead strategic projects, such as the Local Heritage Survey and Developer Contribution Plan.
- Contribute to the Shires Integrated Growth Framework and Place Planning initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and share expertise to develop team capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assessing complex statutory and strategic planning applications.
- Developing policies and strategies to drive sustainable growth.
- Reviewing and administering developer contribution plans.
- Participating in integrated growth and place planning initiatives.
- Preparing professional reports and conducting stakeholder consultations.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary environments in local government planning.
- Strong research, evaluation, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and valid drivers licence.
- Experience in policy development, compliance, and appeals processes (highly regarded).
