- Seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager
- Fixed-term, full-time role available for immediate filling until 28 February 2026
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to provide a critical role within Technology Solutions and Data Security.
About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
Technology Solutions and Data Security focuses on meeting the department's data and digital needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes.
Technology Solutions and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department's business function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and oversees the delivery of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.
About the Role
The role of a Senior Project Manager is:
- To manage and lead the delivery of major projects and initiatives in relation to time, cost, scope and quality.
- To successfully deliver the selection and implementation of an ICT managed service partner (run function) as part of a large transformation program. The position will define the project's strategic direction and plans, and effectively manage and lead the project team, resources and stakeholders, ensuring managed service provisions are delivered in accordance with the strategic roadmap.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated project management experience relevant to the deliverables and qualifications of this role, with specific experience delivering large ICT managed service initiatives.
- Commercial acumen to negotiate effectively to establish low risk, value for money commercial contracts that meet the specified requirements. Proven experience in successfully working with and managing specialist service providers in a commercial setting.
- Knowledge of ICT technologies and information system elements (hardware, software, network & communications) and their application to business functions and processes.
- Significant senior project management experience using formal project management methodologies (PRINCE2 and Agile) in an environment of strong project governance.
- Project management qualifications, such as PRINCE2 certification or equivalent experience.
- Certified in Agile Delivery methodologies and equivalent experience.
- Certified in ITSM foundations or practitioner level methodology (ITIL framework).
