Overview
Your role
As a Senior Property claims consultant, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of a portfolio of complex and large-scale property claims. You will form an integral part of GB's Property claims team within our General insurance division, providing specialised claims management and coaching to other more junior members within the team using your experience in handling property claims. This role offers a rare opportunity to manage an interesting and unique claims portfolio that will vary from day to day, handling claims from within Australia and sometimes on an international level.
How you'll make an impact
- Manage a portfolio of complex commercial property claims end to end
- Driving claims outcomes through guided conversation with external parties such as forensic accountants, assessors, solicitors and agencies to assess, assist with and provide funding approval for repair works
- Working with clients experiencing business interruption as a flow on from major property and asset damage including building loss, inability to trade etc, often as a result of major and catastrophic events
- Comply with legislation such as Insurance Code of Practice and other relevant legislation/regulations and policy requirements
- Resolve complaints in accordance with company guidelines
- Identify potential fraud/recovery indicators for claims where applicable
About you
What we're looking for:
- High level of experience and strong technical knowledge in managing complex commercial property and business interruption claims portfolio
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Coaching and mentoring experience
- Well-rounded communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to drive claims outcomes
- Self-motivated and driven individual with strong time management and organizational skills
- ANZIIF qualifications (desirable)
- Australian Citizenship is essential (to be eligible for this position, our successful candidate must complete a Commonwealth Security Clearance which requires Australian Citizenship)
