We have an awesome opportunity for a Senior Tax Consultant to join our team in Melbourne or Auckland.

Is this your next role?

As a Senior Tax Consultant, you'll play a key role in managing tax compliance for Heartland Group's New Zealand and Australian entities. Your work will include preparing and filing tax returns, tax accounting, and providing tax support to the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with business units and finance teams to deliver high-quality tax compliance, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Liaise with Inland Revenue, ATO, and State revenue offices, preparing submissions and correspondence as directed by the Tax Manager.
  • Support the Tax Manager and Head of Tax in providing tax advice and managing tax-related submissions.

Working in a small, collaborative team, you'll gain exposure to a variety of tax matters, offering plenty of opportunities for development and career progression.

Does this sound like you?
You've got a few years of experience as a tax specialist or accountant with tax experience. You're a strong communicator, naturally curious, and have great attention to detail. With good judgment and the ability to work independently, you thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance, plus a CA or CPA qualification (or part qualified).
  • Strong knowledge of NZ and Australian taxation principles and legislation.
  • Experience in financial accounting and tax effect accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and perform under pressure.
