This is a transport Grade 8 ($133,545 - $149,568) plus superannuation.

In this role:

You'll be working in the Legal - Employment, Safety & Liability team, where you will provide expert legal advice and manage legal claims and litigation on a diverse range of employment (including industrial) and safety matters to support the business and operations of Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains, and NSW TrainLink.

This will include working collaboratively with other members of the team and internal clients, and providing practical and solutions-focused advice and legal support on such matters as:

  1. Employee misconduct and performance management
  2. Unfair dismissal claims before the Fair Work Commission and Industrial Relations Commission
  3. Work Health and Safety and Rail Safety National Law compliance
  4. Discrimination claims
  5. Interpretation of legislation, policies, and industrial instruments

You will model the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct.

You are an experienced Employment and/or Safety Lawyer who has tertiary qualifications in law, holds a practising certificate in NSW, and has 5 plus years relevant post-qualification experience.

You will have advanced written communication skills and be able to draft succinct and well-structured documents. You will also have excellent verbal communication and stakeholder management skills and be able to convey technical legal concepts clearly.

You will have exceptional time management skills and be able to manage a demanding workload with competing priorities. You are able to work collaboratively with other team members, and closely with internal clients and project teams to provide solutions-focused legal support.
