Position Overview: SPIRE Academy is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Tournaments & Sponsorships to lead the planning, execution, and growth of our tournament programs while securing strategic sponsorships. This role will be responsible for expanding SPIRE's presence in the sports industry through high-quality event management and meaningful partnerships that align with our mission of developing student-athletes and fostering community engagement.
Key Responsibilities: Tournament & Event Management:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive tournament strategy that enhances SPIRE's brand and revenue streams.
- Oversee the planning, logistics, and execution of tournaments, leagues, and special events across multiple sports.
- Collaborate with sports directors, facility operations, and marketing teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Identify and secure new tournament opportunities to drive participation and engagement.
- Manage tournament budgets, registration processes, and operational logistics.
Sponsorship Development & Partnership Management:
- Identify, negotiate, and secure sponsorships with brands that align with SPIRE's mission and values.
- Develop customized sponsorship packages that provide value to partners while enhancing SPIRE events.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing sponsors, ensuring fulfillment of all partnership agreements.
- Collaborate with marketing and media teams to maximize sponsorship visibility and activation opportunities.
- Track and report sponsorship performance metrics to ensure ongoing success and growth.
Community & Industry Engagement:
- Act as a liaison with governing bodies, sports organizations, and industry leaders to enhance SPIRE's tournament reputation.
- Build relationships with coaches, teams, and clubs to increase tournament participation.
- Represent SPIRE Academy at industry events, networking opportunities, and strategic meetings.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sports event management, sponsorship sales, or a related role.
- Proven track record of organizing large-scale tournaments and securing corporate sponsorships.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Passion for youth sports, athlete development, and community engagement.
