Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical guidance by reviewing and mentoring less experienced staff in areas such as individual, partnership, corporate, federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Define tax objectives, scope, and methodology, and collaborate with clients' leadership to address broader business implications of tax-related decisions.
  • Optimize the use of available technology and resources to deliver efficient, high-quality results while ensuring team adherence to best practices.
  • Serve as the primary engagement manager, overseeing billing, realization, and collections responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement a practice development plan that includes networking, new client acquisition, and expansion of existing client relationships.
  • Stay updated on tax trends, legislation, and organizational policies to maintain technical excellence.
  • Act as the key liaison for Chinese business tax matters across various areas of the firm.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, with exposure to a variety of industries.
  • Experience working with inbound Chinese companies, multi-state taxation, and middle-market clients is preferred.
  • Proven expertise in engagement management, including project planning, staff development, technical tax execution, and billing.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or Bar License required.
  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin preferred) and English, both written and verbal.
  • Availability to travel periodically to China.
